Former members not registering

Post by Jim_Alaska » Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:18 am

While we all know the old forums were very inactive and boring because no one was posting, I sort of expected former members to at least register for the new forums. I sent out private messages and emails to each member of the old forums, but only nine people have registered so far. It's a bit perplexing since the old forums had 11,943 members.

Oh well, perhaps in time others will show up. In the meantime if the members we have would post some of what they are doing, or even interesting things from the past, it would attract more people. I'll try to post some stuff of my own, but so far have hesitated to do so because I know when I see a forum that only has posts from the owner, I think right away the forum is inactive.

In any event, the forums are up and functioning well if anyone wants to use them.

They may have non working e-mail addresses like me. I've had 2 major e-mail addresses disappear when the pages no longer worked.

Yes, I thought of that Randy, but out of almost 12,000 members only 13 have registered so far.

Well it looks like we are starting to pick up some new members. As of tonight we have 21 people registered. Now if some of the old members would register we could really pick up the numbers.

Thanks for registering folks.

Jim I never got an e-mail to register here either. I only knew the forum was moving here because I checked it often.
Just to let you know.

I didn't get the email either. Now spending most of my time in Arizona. I had my leg amputated, above the knee, from complications of wounds I received in Vietnam so I gave up my Alaska claims. I'm getting around with a prosthetic leg and am looking to do some prospecting in AZ but still am interested in what's going on in AK after 40 years of mining and prospecting in the state.

Sorry to hear about your leg. Thanks for your service. I was fortunate enough to not get sent to Vietnam. I had orders for there but I couldn't get sent there unless I re-enlisted which I didn't.
