Jim and Dick,
The answer completely rests on Canadian Border "Mandates". The Trucker led Freedom Demonstration shook things up a lot and the various Provinces have, to the most part, removed their own restrictions but the stumbling block is Trudeau's "National Policy" that creates a real roadblock for me.
I have chosen to not receive the experimental Jab and because of that I would have to jump through a lot-a-hoops traveling in both directions. In total there would be an additional 4 weeks of time to travel the 3.5 day trip up (down from the 2 month round trip delay not that long ago). Of course it's their country with their ways of doing things, and that's cool - however - I have my own personal choices, too.
Of course the added expense is a factor as well - and with the skyrocketing cost of fuel something has to realign itself before I can make the trip. After 2 years of "coasting" the cabin has to be a jungle at this point. I have had problems with break-ins in the past and even though friends watch the cabin for us they still can't be there 24-7.
I have to play the hand I'm dealt over all that and so I'll just have to see how everything shakes out when I return. At the worst a "suspicious fire" will take it all and again, I'll just have to see what comes down the path.

Re: Articulated Haulers
Jim... I feel sorry for you living in the State that taxes the hell out of everything ! $4.58 is bad enough !
Joe ... That's a bummer. Hopefully all your stuff will be fine and the cabin still standing. Who knows, maybe your
'money in the bank' will be even more valuable when you do get back up to make a 'withdrawal '

Slatco...
Did you have to ship the old trans back for a core charge? Just wondering if you got to keep the old one.
