I did a little more research into this effecting the use of drones in remote Alaska where Internet is not an option. It seems the problem was with a firmware update to the DJIGO 4 App, and the need to be logged in to fly the P4P, otherwise it restricts you to 30 m height and 50 m distance.
The solution is to re-log into the DJIGO4 APP while in internet range, and then just stay signed into the DJIGO4 APP. Do not log out. Just close the application, and reopen when needed out in the field, you shouldnt have to sign in again, and should have full functionality.
Of course this should be tested by doing a flight before heading into the field.
For those concerned about the Chinese downloading all out secret flight logs etc. There is a mode called "Enable Local Data Mode" It supposedly makes it so that no data is shared over the internet.
