Council Mining District;
The Council Mining District probably has more GOLD mining history than anyplace else in Alaska!
It contains the Casadepaga River... Stompin' ground of George Massie aka "Buzzard"... Ruby Roadhouse... and more.
Look no Further! This should be a HOT topic!

Re: Prospecting Council...
Resistivity;
Geophysical Prospectors look for LOW Resistivity. Low Resistivity means the earth is highly mineralized with conductors including GOLD and SILVER. The Council District has many Resistivity Anomalies indicating possible LODE deposits. The Resistivity Anomalies represent some of the most intense (LOW) Resistivity Anomalies that I know of.
This is a Resistivity contour map of one such Resistivity Anomaly. Contour maps are like Topo maps. Topo maps show elevation and Resistivity contour maps show Resistivity - the center is the lowest Resistivity...
The dark purple in the center is the LOW Resistivity. Note on the left (light blue) is a probable Quartz deposit having very high Resistivity

Re: Prospecting Council...
This is the kind of map I tried to describe originally. This is what I went off of in the Salcha Drainage. Mine were hard copies and expensive, especially if you needed multiple maps.

Jim,
Glad to hear that! These Contour maps "paint" a vivid picture of the shape and profile of an anomaly. The sections are overlaid so it's easy to refer to a Topo map to get Township, Range and Section as well as find access points.
