Season Updates?

Post by Slatco » Tue Aug 20, 2024 1:43 pm

How goes the battle for all the miners out there? I have had a good season so far and had a new permit application approved so will be testing some new ground this September.

Great to hear!
I'm stuck here in the lower 48 this summer due to a medical thing so production is at a firm 0 oz this season.

Busy trying to get the season wrapped up here. Was 22 degs last night! It's time to move on to reclamation work and stripping for next season!
Sorry to hear you didn't make it North Joe. You'll have to give 'er hell next year!

Slatco, good luck on the new ground testing!

I'll try and update my thread real soon !

Looking forward to it Mr Chicken! I guess another update for me is I picked up a 2012 290 Hitachi that I am getting sent to my newly permitted property. 25 ft dig depth on that bad boy, can't wait to see what is hiding down there!

A Hitachi 290 ... that is sweet! Must be a ZX model.
Hope it looks as nice as this one :D

Yeah guys - I just have an older model of a True Temper #2 hand held. Really does well on fuel but it also really wears you out!

Haha Joe you need to increase the frequency to make up for the volume (I am reminded of my buddy who grabbed a really small stick to try and bash a porcupine and had to hit it 1000 times). Chicken if you are curious it was lot 1028 in the last Ritchie Bros Edmonton sale. The 300s are workhorses! Couple miners on the creek I am on have 300s and they have 25,000hrs plus and still dig like mofos. The one miner had his injection pump rebuilt this year and that ancient Isuzu starts up and idles like a Cadillac. Speaking of Isuzus I am a blown away that this new one I go only has a 4 cyl in it!! That is a lot of iron to move around with only a 4 banger!

Couldn't resist, looked up your 290 and man what a nice looking machine! Jealous of the deal you got too!!
Love those Isuzu engines. Never had a lick of engine trouble on any of mine and those things are amazing on fuel consumption.
Ya my 300 has 16,000 hrs and is still as strong as ever. Bucket is pretty sloppy but rest of the machine is tight still.
