It certainly is a sad fact that Jim is no longer with us - yet we all can well remember his fierce passion for Gold mining as well as this forum. That passion is the glue that held and holds this forum together through not only the good times but also through the roughest of times. We all have that glue just under the surface.
At this point if all posting stops then even the staunchest old time miner will be forced to sample other ground looking for new paydirt with information to use in their individual operations. Without the continuing sparks from new postings the slow death through atrition will finally come to pass.
The good news is that we all have or know the endless stories as well as bits and pieces of knowledge which could easily rev up this forum. One miner's dilema is not just his to figure out but rather something for all of us to help with.
Now is the time to flick the switch from just waiting for something to, somehow, happen to actually posting "stuff".
It's not time for someone else to get the ball rolling - it's time for all of us to get motivated.
I'm going to see what I can trot out in the next few days while waiting for others to do the same.

Right now in the cabin in Trapper Creek, Alaska and on my cell phone.

Joe,
Great post! Lots of guys still out on the creeks/rivers trying to catch those last few days of decent working conditions.
Looking forward to hearing about all the adventures and misadventures.

First, gentle frost last night here near Talkeetna last night. The stories should be a-flying soon.

Well it has been winter storm wx here. Almost 8" of snow on the ground now!
Time for folks to get serious about posting stories so we can exploit their adventures.

Here in Trapper Creek we had our first 1/4" last night.
I can only imagine what'll come from this summer's mining adventures memories.
