No, not just microscopic Gold - but rather how you can easily see really small things when sitting alongside the stream.
We've all used magnifying lenses to better see really small things like micro Gold and splinters. Simple - right?
However, if you want more magnification than a simple lens you're just out of luck. Or maybe not.
At home (with no one watching / laughing) pick up your trusty binoculars and look at your hand - but - turn the binocs around and look through them "the wrong way". Put the usual eyepiece very close to the skin and see how much more magnification you have. Not as handy as a simple lens but it sure makes a splinter look like a log and micro Gold like a nugget.
