Hi there this is Pascal, been around since 06-08 on the old forum. I am working a gold field outside Alaska with much tighter regulations. That also means access is quite regulated, NYAC or New-York Alaska Gold Dredging Corporation did some drilling and shafting in the late 1950's early 1960's on my claims. Anyone knows if today NYAC may still have the files or if the archives have been deposited somewhere like what has been done with the YCGC (Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation) in the Yukon?
Thanks
I am Looking for NYAC archives or New York Alaska Gold Dredging Corporation

Pascal,
Welcome back!
Not far from where I am mining is the community of NYAC. When I did a search, it turns out NYAC was named from New York Alaska Company and their related Dredging Company. They were apparently active in GOLD mining up through the 1990's. There are a few names of miners and others in the mindat.org link that may have personal information that may be helpful. In some cases, principals may have passed but research into their decendants may uncover a box in the attic!

Good luck!

Thanks Geowizard
Yup I have checked the same Mindat, they seemed to have been quite a big company back in the days, they had a working model dredge for the Fairbanks University. I would expect a good 40 boxes of papers either in storage or molding somewhere or burnt. There is a newer NYAC mining company, no idea if they are carrying on the same company. I found a few numbers but was checking if someone had first hand experience.

Pascal,
It's probably the same company although the names and faces have changed.
Depending on the case, companies keep records with the hope that another company will come along and offer to BUY a copy of the data. It is likely that the drilling or other exploration work was not encouraging otherwise there would have been follow-up exploration and marketing of the property. A fresh look at old data and application of new technology can sometimes lead to new discoveries!
