Beautiful stuff Leonard. The variations in design you see in wire gold specimens are incredible.

Those are just gorgeous Leonard. I've never been fortunate enough to find wire gold.

Cool specimens. I was just thinking about posting about wire gold so I'll add my piece here.
This is the most spectacular piece of wire gold that has come off my ground so far.
Notice it is an inch long!

Dick, I always thought that wire gold came from hard rock. Did you get this in your placer operation?

Yes, coming from a high bench placer deposit that is about 250' above creek level.

Thanks Dick, I am still surprised it came from a placer deposit. Is that common to find wire gold where you are?
