Okay enough acronyms! Has anyone else been playing around with AI in regards to your gold mining pursuits? Grok 3, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI are just a few of those available out there.
The phrasing "they" use is curious sometimes but I have found a few things that seemed to be useful if accurate. So is anyone else asking Grok to help them find gold?

No, not here. I guess I'm just set in my ways too much to venture off into what to me is a vast, confusing network of unintended, potentially scary possibilities.
Have you eve noticed how AI generated vocal products are so 'not right'? Not just sometimes but always only a faint reflection of real speech? Ever had your GPS tell you to turn where there is not the faintest hint of a road? I guess that's where having a back-up map makes real sense at this point in 'puter trust.
I wish you well, but I'll leave that AI stuff right there in the box for someone else.

I appreciate the reply. I don't disagree, that's why I say garbage in, garbage out. A couple of searches referenced gold per yard from that area that were apparently found in some document that I had never seen in my searches. My problem is that the area I am prospecting in has very limited published information, most of which I have already found and read. I can still find information that is standard to gold dredging and recovery that I may not have seen or read about before. AI is definitely Caveat Emptor!!
If I ask it how to make Hollandaise it provides me with a standard recipe that I would never use. Over 40 years I conservatively used over half a million eggs for hollandaise so I know how to do that no matter what AI says.
The biggest affect I see is that kids today are using it to do their homework. Two problems, they are losing their ability to problem solve and you can't use it on the test! Yet. That will probably be next!
Anyway, I am looking for any information or advantage I can get to maximize my gold recovery in my short 40 day season in Alaska.
Thanks,

Re: IYKYK is AI just GIGO for gold mining?
One thing about "Published Material" that is sometimes overlooked has to do with the testing process and just who actually does it - and - more importantly, how it's actially done.
In the great scheme of things, temporary summer help was used for decades to do much of the mind numbing, repetive test panning. Summer Help quickly learns how to pan and then the endless testing begins.
As with all of us, "grab sample" locations are at the discression of the sampler and so, over time, certain habits sometimes developed.
Everyrone uses their own preferences and so the random sample locations slowly tend to move to either "better" or conversely, "easier" spots. Bottom line is that sometimes the testing results were, inadvertantly, biased.
Eventually the testing process moved to simply generating concentrates which were coded and sent to a seperate testing location.
The up-shot is that while published findings are of great intrest to all of us, the old Russian Proverb "Trust but Verify" does seem to sum up the overall situation.

No, but I do believe it is going to be huge in the future for delineating deposits.
I think we are already seeing that.
Not sure so much on the placer side although if I were looking to find a new placer deposit
in a particular district, I would sure be looking at using AI in the tool kit!
