Happy Holidays and some winter projects!

Post by Slatco » Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:09 pm

Hi fellas, hope the winter is going well and the gold fever is keeping the fires warm! Just thought I would do a little video to show what I am up to this winter. With the recent downturn/covid my employers shop is underutilized and I have managed to sneak my projects into the yard/shop lol. Gotta take the opportunities when you get them if you want to be a successful miner! 8-)

Neat to see your ongoing projects. Good luck with that shaker.
Boy are you fortunate to have a nice shop to work in ... I'm jealous !

Love the video. What type of Mats are you putting in the sluice?

I am going with angle iron over miners moss and expanded over miners moss in the flared section. I know there are a bunch of different matts out there but for my scenario and my gold types, the moss/angle iron works well.

HMmmmmm - All that concentrate means you probably don't have to think about what to do this winter --- you'll be pannin' it out until spring.

Strong arms. Good planning!

I am kinda surprised that you opted for angle iron instead of Hungarians. But on another note that just came to me; it is interesting that since the days of the gold rush very little has change in basic recovery methods. Things such as a gold pan is always the last step, the pans have changed a lot, but still a pan. Other things such as the sluice, the riffles, the matting, all of these have changed for the better, but still based on the original components.
