It sometimes seems that the PM gets stuck in the server until the recipient logs on before the PM is actually sent. No idea exactly how that works but, for sure, it isn't like email works.

Yes Dick, I got it. The time stamp says I got it at 10:05am. I wasn't here then, but it sure looks like it got sent when you sent it.

When the PM system works well - well - it works well. (I thought that to be a well done turn of words )

I have, in the past, had messages like Dick's get to the recipient with the absolute speed of light.

- But -

I have also, occasionally, found multiple "stale PMs" to different recipients just sitting in my out box - that had been there for weeks or MONTHS. No real rhyme or reason to what gets 'stuck' or not.

Always puzzling to me.

I wish I had an answer to the problem, or better yet a remedy. It is just something I cannot duplicate on my end. About all I can do is try to make sure the forum software is operating correctly. I also ask about things such as this on support forums for the board and hosting platforms we use for our forums. Most of the time they are very helpful because there are people there that are having the same problem I am writing about. But not this time.....silence.

All I can do at the time is encourage you folks to hang in there and see if you can work around the problem. Should be not too hard to work around because we know about it. If you don't know about it, it becomes a real problem.
