Hi Guys and Gals,
A recent topic appeared on the Forum related to melting and pouring GOLD.
We understand that the GOLD we find can be melted and poured...
One of the important things to realize is that when GOLD is molten, it can be poured into a Casting!
GOLD jewelry can ADD VALUE to GOLD with a multiplier of up to X10...
Here's a place where creative GOLD prospectors can share ideas on adding value to GOLD.

Re: Adding VALUE to GOLD...
Value added gold can be and has been a wonderful topic to discuss. There are many different ways to add value to your gold, you are only limited to your imagination and abilities. Over the years I have seen some wonderful examples of creative imagination.

Re: Adding VALUE to GOLD...
Selling GOLD;
Many prospectors sell their GOLD to a refiner...
A refiner charges for the "assay" and/or "refining" of the GOLD and pays a percentage i.e. 90 percent...
The prospector ends up with less money for his/her GOLD.
Simple melting of GOLD and pouring into small bars and selling on eBay can get a premium of 10 percent OVER spot or more... It depends on the madness of the bidders...
Refine the GOLD?
Jewelers don't use refined GOLD! They add silver to GOLD to make a given Karat i.e. 20 Karat GOLD that is a ratio of 20 / 24 = 20 parts GOLD and 4 parts Silver. Silver is added to give GOLD harness and durability. It also adds to the brightness and LUSTRE.
