Re: Season Updates?

Haha Joe you need to increase the frequency to make up for the volume (I am reminded of my buddy who grabbed a really small stick to try and bash a porcupine and had to hit it 1000 times). Chicken if you are curious it was lot 1028 in the last Ritchie Bros Edmonton sale. The 300s are workhorses! Cou...

Re: Season Updates?

Looking forward to it Mr Chicken! I guess another update for me is I picked up a 2012 290 Hitachi that I am getting sent to my newly permitted property. 25 ft dig depth on that bad boy, can't wait to see what is hiding down there!

Season Updates?

How goes the battle for all the miners out there? I have had a good season so far and had a new permit application approved so will be testing some new ground this September.

Re: Operational improvements for improving hand mining (highbanking) efficiency - Lean Manufacturing style

If you use a fast cleaning sluice like a LeTrap or use spare set of carpets you can speed up the time of cleaning up your sluice box. Also a marine boat tank tied into your water pump will let you run longer between fuel fill ups.

Re: New prospect

I just got back from my first trip out and dealt with the usual mech issues. Best fix was a metal hydraulic line on my dipper cylinder rubbed through and I was able to weld it up with tiny 1/16" 6013 rods although it took me a couple of tries. Also helped a neighbor change a turbo on a backhoe.

Sweet! Looks like a good start. What gauge is the barrel made of?
You planning some sort of grizzly on that hopper?
Barrel is 1/2" i believe. Haha your previous posts have me talked out of a grizz but I may build one up that is bolt on so I can take it on/off.

Nice looking plant where did you get your large sprocket
thanks doug
I had it waterjetted as a single piece. Cost me around $700 but having a combination sprocket/thrust ring was worth it to me.

Test trommel

Fabbing up a little test trommel to use to test some new ground if my permits ever get First Nations approval. Yes, I know the barrel appears orientated the wrong way- i did it on purpose to carry tailings farther away from the skid.
