Sweet! Looks like a good start. What gauge is the barrel made of?
You planning some sort of grizzly on that hopper?
Barrel is 1/2" i believe. Haha your previous posts have me talked out of a grizz but I may build one up that is bolt on so I can take it on/off.

Nice looking plant where did you get your large sprocket
thanks doug
I had it waterjetted as a single piece. Cost me around $700 but having a combination sprocket/thrust ring was worth it to me.

Test trommel

Fabbing up a little test trommel to use to test some new ground if my permits ever get First Nations approval. Yes, I know the barrel appears orientated the wrong way- i did it on purpose to carry tailings farther away from the skid.

Re: Spring hauling to new prospect

Wow, thanks for sharing Dick and quite timely. My new area I am looking at has winter road access only and I have been musing on the absolute necessity of having a dozer or if I could could use a plow tractor with chains or even go over top with a low impact vehicle like a nodwell. The length (90 mi...

Re: Soil samples for placer indication

Thanks Geo and Chicken. At this point I am doing more internet prospecting than anything else and the info avail from YukonGeo is mostly related to hardrock geophysical. The purpose of my question was to see if there was a potential placer link with the soil sampling.

Soil samples for placer indication

Morning gents, I am looking at some ground in the Yukon that has not had much placer work done on it but there has been soil sampling for hardrock. There are quite a few samples coming up with gold greater than 50 ppb and some over 1000 ppb. From my understanding 1000 ppb is 1g/yd so that should be ...

Re: how cold is it

Been a milder winter than usual for me near Edmonton although we did have a few days of -42C. Bigger issue is not much snow here or in north central BC where a mine which means forest fire season will be brutal again....

The necessity of Nugget Traps?

Been pondering this question this winter. Are nugget traps really required? I don't use them however I am not in a nugget gold area so I can't say for sure that I need one (maybe I would get nuggets if I had one lol). In my experience it seems like the 1.5" angle iron sluice section catches anything...
