After learning that Chlorine Gas dissolves Gold I realized that an over abundance of raw organic fertilizer was in evidence.
I went no further because I know better.

Potato Rake.
Hand held 'picker-uppers'. Those 30" long pincers with a pistol grip for picking your socks up off the floor.
Small (almost child's size) shovel to scoop up the treasures.
OH, an afterthought - borrow some grandkids - they love taking a trip and they are soooooo active.

Re: Best way to determine ownership??
>THE< best way to find out information is to go to the DNR office, and at the counter, start asking all your pre thought out questions. Computers are handy - but the results are not 100% timely or reliable. There are time delays in getting the recorded information into the data base - and sometimes ...

How Come .......?
So, why are there sometimes separate and distinct 'types' of Gold on a claim - at least where I work, and have worked, South of Denali Park? Sometimes the color is a bit different or sometimes sizes are distinct or sometimes the ground is just very different in color or texture or composition, corre...

Re: Wow.... Canada has lost it..............
JED, Canada is simply a different country with different laws, policies and procedures, however they suffer from the very same core problems that we also share. Here in the US, where we all used to strive to progress in intelligently using natural resources (you know, to further our way of life) we ...

Re: Glad to be back
Well, I can hardly believe my eyes! Lanny is back and, it seems, as adventure filled as ever. Wonderful to see you back - and - still coming up swinging. (Here we go with the cliche's again). I'll be standing by to read some of your, and maybe your wife's, adventures (maybe in installments) again. S...

Re: Extruded EPDM 4-TPI Sawtooth Mat Redesign
I have used Dragline's original 4 TPI matting on beach sand and found it to be a real Gold Grabber. In fact, I spent a few hours with Dragline and Johnedoe *and* the saw tooth worked exceptionally well there on the beach in Oregon. I wonder if the 8 and the 16 Tooth next generation styles would do b...

Re: Just moved to Alaska in September 2018
Like anywhere I guess, spotty with none to (once in a long time) good finds for a small time operation. I usually work a little one shovel highbanker operation in a mountainous area and at 72 years old I realistically don't expect to be "Hitting it Big" any time soon, now --- of course, I could well...
