Re: Properties of punch plate (or Jarvine Riffle) for improving gold capture

There aren't enough economic incentives for objective third party testing of any matting, overlay or gold capture system. It's also pretty tough to make it truly scientific. Pickaxe,
Yes, I think you should start a new thread on small scale hard rock mining. It's needed!
Jason has a gob of great videos on You Tube.

Re: The Golden Fleece - 5oz of beach gold on a blanket sluice

Trev is a great example of a guy designing a recovery system tailored to his specific need. Nope, it sure doesn't have to be fancy or new technology. The basic principles of gravity recovery haven't changed. New technology has just made it easier to screen material, adjust water flow and adapt the p...

Re: Starlink system

As Starlink deploys more polar orbiting LEO satellites the coverage and speed for those of us in Alaska just keeps getting better. Here is my typical speed these days. https://www.chickenminer.com/images/starlink%20speed.jpg When I first got Starlink over a year ago the obstruction map on the Starli...

Re: Is drift mining a practical way to mine nowadays?

Pishon ... good to see you posting! I have sunk many shafts over the years during winters prospecting but my intention was never to drift mine any of them, only for prospecting. Is there still areas left ? Well I'd say there is lots of areas left to prospect but worth mining you won't know until you...

Joe...
Glad things are getting back to normal for you in ID. Didn't sound like much fun to come home to all that stuff!
Now you can get back to thinking about all those projects left undone here in Alaska :)
