Re: A Modern Take On Old Time Drift Mining

Holy hells, that is some bad luck. A guy really has to have the desire and persistence to succeed in this game. Good luck out there and hopefully things start to go smoother.

Hello slatco..
What is the coarseness of your gold? Any nuggets or is it all fairly fine? Sub 20 mesh?
Thank's
Most of the gold is all flat flake sub 12 mesh. I haven't gotten any nugs but miners a couple miles upstream do.

Re: 2018 Season

Id love to get over to visit you and your operation this summer. I'm sure I could learn a lot. How did you determine to start mining on a high bench? is that where you've been mining all along? How deep to pay? Do you dig shafts in lieu of drilling? Hi Flint, ya I have been mining here all along. (...

Re: 2018 Season

Hmm, top 5 things...... - Make sure the thrust ring was perfectly flat. The one I am using has a bow in it as I cheaped out and bought the plate like that before it was cut out. The bow causes the drum to walk up and down slightly which likely contributes to roller wear. -Better collector for when t...

Re: 2018 Season

Yep, gold is mostly fine but it still pays lol. The deeper channels around Manson Creek and Germanson River have big nugs.

Re: 2018 Season

You bet Chickenminer, shallow ground is so nice. I run everything from the surface down about 10ft after scraping off the topsoil. Reclamation is pretty strict (stricter than the Yukon I believe) with everything having to be filled, contoured, topsoil re spred and trees planted. Built that trommel a...

2018 Season

Hi guys, for those who are interested, here is a brief video of my operation from last year. I have a full time job and only get out to the mine a couple weeks a year. The gold pays for grub, diesel and beer with a little left over for repairs and the wife (so I can continue to play) so I am a happy...

Re: Nano GOLD!

Took a look at the cleangold system. Maybe I am naive but I just can't see how that system could process the volume to make the accumulation of nano gold profitable.

Satellite Imagery

Hi there, I know most people like to use Google Earth for imagery but I have found that the coverage for my area is spotty at best with cloud cover and low resolution. Another option that works better (at least for my area) is Planet. https://www.planet.com/ You can register for a free trial and get...
