Re: Properties of punch plate (or Jarvine Riffle) for improving gold capture

Science or marketing; The question of product testing comes down to the objective. Is the testing done for science or marketing? :o If a product offers a new, higher function that serves a special purpose or application, then testing serves the virtue of helping mankind. We need more of that! The le...

Pickaxe,

It's up to you. I plan on expanding the breadth of hard rock mining and a separate thread my be a good idea. It keeps the subject of discussion directed to the hard rock audience. The hard rock fines are a different species. :)

PickAxe,

Nice! Great idea too. The drive IMHO is toward hard rock mining for all of the obvious reasons. I look forward to more discussion! :)

100 mesh GOLD; The micron stage has a 1 mm, electron sputtered, silver scale (looks like a ruler) divided into 100 divisions. On a scale of .01 mm = 10 microns per division. For reference: 100 mesh = 149 microns (15 divisions). https://www.industrialspec.com/resources/mesh-and-micron-sizes/ At Ophir...

Theory of Relativity in placer GOLD mining; When I looked at all of the GOLD recovered over the past decade at my wild Alaskan placer diggin's, it looked like 20 mesh flying saucers! I didn't see any space people! Basic aerodynamics applies to hydrodynamics in the same manner when LIFT and flying an...

Re: Gold Spot

Geowizards Analysis; Today, it's down. Here's why: Gold prices going up reflect the weakness of the US Dollar. As soon as we see an increase in GOLD prices, it is followed by a sharp downward spike as we see today. A "BIG" player is selling HIGH and driving GOLD prices lower! The Fed and the Treasur...

An exciting subject; The subject of underground mining has taken several directions here on the forum. In keeping with the allure of underground mining and safety and practicality of working underground as well as recognition of the Two Shaft sinkers in Alaska, I would like to share a few links inte...

Re: Properties of punch plate (or Jarvine Riffle) for improving gold capture

Those "NEW" Guys! In the comments from the video... "Blows my mind!" As an "old guy", I have years and years of experience watching advertising and marketing of "NEW" gadgets that come into the market. Claims are made and rarely demonstrated. :o The claim is "MORE GOLD is the only focus". In the sub...

Re: Properties of punch plate (or Jarvine Riffle) for improving gold capture

Punch plate is a screen; I used punch plate the same as our forefathers did. Not as a "prop" not as a "gimmick" but as a tool. My story - All that was left after the miners left Ophir was the "twenty minus". All that was left after I left was sub-micron! The previous mining that took place over the ...
