Re: Ambler Access Road

I have been lucky to be one of the lucky few allowed access to the Pogo Mine road in the past. After I visited the guarded gate shack at the start of the road, and giving them a valid reason for being there. I was able to harvest a 64 inch moose on a spur logging road. Resource development and espec...

Re: Drone operators... ALERT ! New FAA rules

Wow, Just read the FAA proposed "Remote ID Rule". I am a Part 107 (Unmanned Aerial System) certified commercial drone pilot doing Remote Photogrammery of timberlands, and if this proposed rule goes through I will be unable to fly because of lack of Internet in 2-3 years. This has got to be one of th...

Alaska Daily News article about mining tailings and salmon on the Forty Mile River

I wanted to share this interesting article I saw in the ADN about reprocessing tailings piles for the benefit of salmon on the Forty Mile River. It turns out, Mining can be good for salmon after all. Re: Drone Mapping Software for Remote Alaska Prospecting

Re: Drone Mapping Software for Remote Alaska Prospecting

Wow,

First I have heard of that. If they continue that across their product line, it will severely limit any drone use in many parts of remote Alaska.

Re: Drone Mapping Software for Remote Alaska Prospecting

The DJI Drones recently went to an internet connect requirement - whether federally mandated or a business related mandate,I don't know. You can only operate the new DJI drones with a DJI internet connect thru a smart phone. I believe it is for tracking and product liability. - Geowizard All DJI Dr...
