Re: Gold Spot
I question my sanity at times too Ha, I’m upping the yardage some but nothing drastic, my existing floater has 3 sluices, 2 on the front screen and one on the rear screen, the new setup is going to have a 2 screen deck, with 2 sluices on each size material, the existing floater could use a 4th sluic...

Re: Gold Spot
$2800 is nice ! I wouldn’t be surprised to see $3000 an oz gold by springtime. I was talking with a couple of guys today while ordering steel for a new project and they were saying that they always wanted to try gold mining / prospecting… I told them right now would be a great time to go play and of...

Re: How much wood, could a woodchuck chuck, kinda
And also I’ll add after re reading this thread, I run about 200 yards per day and do a cleanup after 400 yards, three separate 24” by 16 foot sluice runs of expanded metal, a couple of nugget traps included yields about 10 gallons of minus 3/8” concentrates.

A few thoughts on this.. My dredge will run 25-30 yards an hour before overrunning the sluice boxs (48’ of sluice) I have a mechanical dredge, surely you are referring to a suction dredge, both types share a few of the same principals the biggest being the tailings they generate, if your current isn...

Re: New prospect
That looks familiar Dick, I just did the same job on my newly acquired 200-3 yours looks much easier with the help of a second excavator, I used a makeshift engine hoist in the back of my pickup, I had heard horror stories about the bolts holding the swing drive assembly in place, others back east t...

Re: Starlink system
Another point I thought was worth a mention, when I got the Starlink working at camp it worked great… inside of camp (a metal sided trailer) but did not work very well outside in the camp yard, the router signal was weak and not liking the metal siding on camp, a few weeks later I moved the Starlink...

Re: Mining Videos Thread
The feeder has the curved belt rollers, the hopper has belting bolted on it at about the same angle as the conveyor belt and overlaps several inches, the gravel lays on the “curtains” attached to the hopper making a seal of sorts, water takes the path of least resistance and most of it drains into t...
